CBD for Virility
The use of plants, fungus, and plant-based products to entice a mate and stimulate sexual desire is almost as old as the human race itself. Before we can discern how CBD may be utilized to increase libido, its important to understand how CBD works in your endocannabinoid system. Located throughout our bodies are tiny receptors, culminating into a whole system known as the endocannabinoid system (ECS). These receptors can be imagined as the locks that the keys are cannabinoids, in this case, CBD — can unlock, or activate these receptors.

CBD- Better than Oral B

The idea of incorporating hemp or cannabis in your oral routine may not be a familiar inference. But recent data shows that cannabinoids could become a staple in the dental field in the years ahead. Some of the leading manufacturers of toothpaste have taken note of research showing that CBD and the beneficial antimicrobial properties that are relevant to dental health.

The University of South Carolina has a cannabinoid science lab led by Prakash Nagarkatti. Nagarkatti and his team are currently pioneering investigations into the ECS, the gut microbiome, and disease. They may even have discovered a clue for treating one of the most harmful complications of COVID-19 in some patients.

Frontiers in Pharmacology, a journal with a study done in June, 2020 explored this ECS manipulation by administering THC to mice affected with a form of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). The results were astounding-Nagarkatti and colleagues demonstrated that the application of THC completely healed the ARDS in the laboratory mice.

A Veteran’s Day exposé: CBD for PTSD

Around 10% of people will experience PTSD at some point in their lives, while veterans are effected dramatically higher, with a staggering 35% reported to be suffering. Those who are troubled with this disease commonly have trouble sleeping, may relive the event repeatedly, and most experience anxiety coupled with depression.

A 2016 study found evidence that “drugs acting on the endocannabinoid system may reduce the symptoms that a person with PTSD experiences after a memory extinction procedure. This is because the endocannabinoid system, which includes CBD receptors, can affect anxiety and memory, two factors that play a significant role in PTSD.”

In addition to this increasingly popular anecdote, the possibility of CBD affecting different processes involved in adverse memory is growing as studies are showing favorable effects of cannabidiol - namely isolated CBD, in the control of other common manifestations of PTSD symptomatology, such as sleep disorders.
